  • The Coats I am Loving |The Coat Edit by Mum a Porter

I have always been a massive coat lover. If you’ve been consuming my content for a while now then you will know I am much happier spending my money on larger ticket items I am going to wear loads and that can elevate my looks, like outerwear, handbags or shoes, than I am on say a pair of jeans or a piece or a cashmere roll neck. You know I love jeans and a a roll neck is admittedly a basic, but for me these items individually or on their own don’t get my juices flowing if you know what I mean – they need something to go with to make them pop. A good coat needs absolutely NOTHING to pop!

When it comes to coats I like options, because different coats solve different wardrobe dilemmas. The cape and the overcoat to wear on top of oversized jumpers and blazers, the fur coat to be worn for the evening and to glam up a simple ensemble. The full length coat to wear over short dresses, the camel coat to look like a boss and the car coat that you can wear to and from the car without having to remove and put back on each and every time you jump in and out of said car.

Needless to say nobody NEEDS all of those coats, but having the right coats for our life and our style really can help our winter wardrobes work a lot harder for us. In this edit I am sharing the coats I love, on the high street, premium and luxury. The edit features quite a few classics, like the gorgeous belted camel coat from H&M and the belted Prince of Wales check coat from Ganni – which is such a good price! As well as more trend inspired and statement making coats like the Moncler inspired vinyl puffa coat from Very, which I am loving by the way (what a way to turn up the ante on a puffa) and the black and white blanket coat from Jigsaw, which is an instant game changer on an all black look.

I’ll be sharing more on how I shop and style coats on YouTube soon, so don’t forget to head on over there and subscribe for more styling inspiration. I’ll keep updating this page with any new coats that cross my path and will share my favourite coats on the homepage.

    Hope you enjoy the edit:
