See What I am Shopping, Loving and How I am Styling

There is no denying how much I love Topshop – it has become one of my go-to shops for whenever I need something last minute and don’t have the time to try before I buy. I find their sizing pretty reliable across the board, I mostly wear the same size in their jeans and dresses and kind of know what I need to size up in and what I don’t. That could be to do with how much I shop there, but I think it’s mostly because I am a denim lover and, in my humble opinion, Topshop do pretty good high street denim.

Beyond the sizing and the jeans though, this autumn Topshop is nailing it with their take on the retro inspired trends. If you are going for the 40s inspired looks this season then the Topshop Idol collection has got you covered with knitted jumpers and gillets with accentuated shoulders, trousers with darts that balloon at the leg and lots of dresses cinched at the waist, all very typical of the 1940s silhouette.

Pieces that have caught my eye in Topshop particularly are dark floral chiffon tops, vinyl cropped trousers a la 70s and some gorgeous coats in the season’s colours; burnt orange, mustard yellow and olive green and so many different varieties of fur, shaggy, brushed and colourful in coats, jumpers and even in bags!

If you have been reading this blog for a while now you will know that, despite having my own line of Mum a Porter bags, I am a fan of Topshop’s accessories, particularly their bags. My choice is always the more fun and impractical kind, small and perfect for carrying out in the evening and propping on the table like a little piece of art. The boxy fur bags are a favourite of mine, as well as many of their smaller structured bags. In fact, expect a Topshop accessories edit coming soon, because not only are their bags wowing, but I have already found myself purchasing not one but two pairs of shoes and I still have many more on my list.
