  • Six Ways to Style Cycling Shorts

If you ever told me I’d be wearing a pair of cycling shorts at the ripe old age of thirty five I honestly would have laughed in your face. To be honest, if you’d have told me I’d be dancing in my living room, trying on clothes and sharing it on Instagram at 35 I also would have laughed in your face, but that’s a whole different story. Back to cycling shorts. When these shorts resurfaced as a trend last year I kid you not, I was disgusted! However, I will now say that I want ALL the cycling shorts in all the colours.

Well maybe not ALL the colours and probably not all materials either, but the denim ones certainly work for me. They are a nice alternative to skinny jeans and potentially more flattering. They are also really easy to style, so they really elevate a look effortlessly, which is why I love them even more. They look amazing worn smart with a blazer and shirt or t-shirt beneath, they can look a little rocky with a leather jacket and a long-line tee and they can also be worn super casually, styled as you would wear an actual pair of cycling shorts.

It is a little crazy that I have seen these short skinnies – as some people have been calling them – selling for as much as £35! They are just a pair of skinny jeans with the legs cut off! Nevertheless I like them and I own several pairs now. I have become such a jeans and a tee fanatic that it’s become important for me to have a variety of denim in my wardrobe and these short skinnies are definitely a winner for me. They are long enough in length to keep your modesty a little better than a pair of cut-off shorts, I feel like they are far more acceptable to wear out on a Saturday night than cut-offs, as I did for my birthday and they just add a little bit of ‘coolness’ to a look. I will take coolness anyway I can get it these days!

Hope you enjoy the video! It’s a little different, but now you have double the style inspo xxx
