I am a real sucker for tradition…my Christmas traditions mean everything to me and after lockdown completely throwing out one of my Christmases, my traditions mean more than ever before. One tradition I think many of us share, is the need for at least one pair of PJs to wear over Christmas and the limbo days in between. I will be honest with you, Christmas in my family is a dressy affair and we dress in our best for the big day. But we like new PJs for Christmas eve, that we open up our presents in on Christmas morning and wear around the table for Christmas breakfast. Last year my PJs were from Their Nibs as were Allegra’s. After discovering Their Nibs in John Lewis a few years ago (John Lewis have an incredible selection of pyjamas by the way) I have got a new pair of Their Nibs PJs in each year for myself and Allegra.
My Mum also has the tradition of gifting PJs and loungewear at Christmas. It started with very traditional night dresses in heritage checks and tartans with ruffles and bows – think Victorian times, when I was much younger, to gorgeous sets from The White Company, of which I have a nice collection now. As much as I love The White Company at Christmas and I love wearing my White Company pyjamas, I do love my PJs to have gorgeous prints and patterns. So on the rare occasion I have a PJ day outside of the Christmas holidays, I tend to lean towards a bolder pyjama style – because they’re PJs at the end of the day – they should be fun! Having said that, I am not into novelty PJs or anything too quirky – just gorgeous prints and dreamy fabrics that make me feel a little bit glam and super cosy all at the same time. Here is my PJ edit ladies…
