Take a look at some of my favourite picks for the Black Friday sales, my top tips for making sure you shop only the items you need and absolutely love and finally, the discounts and discount codes you need to shop the sales!
1.Try to Get as Much Value for your Money
My absolute number one tip is to always try and get as much as you possibly can for your money. And I am definitely not referring to quantity, but quality. This is obviously completely respective of your budget, but I would always advise buying the best quality you can possibly afford – especially for the likes of coats and boots. Which I personally believe are the best pieces to INVEST in at this time. If you’re in the market for a new coat and you know in your heart of hearts it’s the only thing you need, don’t opt for a cheaper one so you can buy ‘more stuff’ you don’t need. Buy the best coat your money can afford and not only will you be wearing it for much longer, but you’ll get more bang for your buck.

2. Buy what you actually need
Avoid impulse shopping and prioritise what you need above what you’d ‘like’. Before I need a coat or a pair of boots, I know I need a dress for a Christmas gathering I have coming up and already have a few dresses on my Pinterest board. I am keeping an eye on them and if they drop in price over cyber week I will aim to shop them before they sell out as opposed to being overwhelmed with a sea of choice of discount goods I don’t need and don’t really want. Needless to say, a dress for the festive season isn’t necessarily going to be an item you’ll get lots of wear out of, but if you need it you’ll buy it anyway, so you might as well do so while you can make a saving.

3. Don’t compromise!
Our heads can get a little crazy with all these numbers coming at us! Especially if like me, you don’t have a head for numbers. A size six shoe suddenly sound really good at 50% off, even if we know we’re actually a size bigger or smaller! Don’t buy anything just because it’s cheaper! Even if the discount is immense – if it’s not the right size, too short or too long for your preference or you have absolutely nothing to go with it in your wardrobe just leave it, because the chances are you won’t wear it anyway! Which is a bigger waste of money than buying something full price that you absolutely love and will get loads of wear out of.

4. Don’t let the ones you love get away
The brands you are romantic about you should shop! I love Shrimps, Dolce and Gabbana, Givenchy, Saint Laurent…I mean the list really does go on, but with their price point they are not items I shop everyday. If you are in the market to treat yourself, shop the brands you feel romantic about. From my experience it’s not worth purchasing a pair of shoes from Dolce and Gabbana that’s £100 less than the Saint Laurent pair you’ve been eyeing up for ages. When we shop luxury we’re not just shopping the item, but the brand too. If you love Saint Laurent, the Dolce and Gabbana shoe, although still luxury, just won’t hit the spot because it’s not entirely what you’re totally head over heels for. Let’s be honest, nobody needs a £500 shoe, that’s the the point of luxury, so you may as well buy exactly what you love. If the budget doesn’t permit this time round, maybe it will next time.

Shop smartly and think timelessness and timeliness when Black Friday sale shopping. Don’t let the prices lure you into shopping trends you won’t wear next year, that are difficult to style or aren’t great quality. Set yourself limits and a budget, stick to them and remember, Christmas is just around the corner. One final piece of advice, ff you are in the market for just one luxury item, these Victoria Beckham boots are currently down to £358! I want them!
